1985: Foundation of Wehrli Maschinenbau
In 1985, Hermann Wehrli founded Wecotech AG with the goal of building machines. After succeeding in contract manufacturing of CNC parts, he developed machines for the emerging metal chimney market. The company soon dominated the market with innovative concepts in exhaust technology and tube systems.
1997: Wehrli Maschinenbau becomes two independent companies: Wecotech AG Tube-End-Forming and Wehrli Fertigungstechnik
As an established supplier of tools and machines for tube-end forming, the company decided in 1997 to separate contract manufacturing from mechanical engineering and transform Wehrli Maschinenbau into two independent companies: Wecotech AG Tube-End-Forming and Wehrli Fertigungstechnik.
2000: Foundation of Wecotech AG Telescopic-Fork
With the development of telescopic forks and components for storage and conveying technology, Wecotech AG Telescopic-Fork was founded in 2000 and has since supplied renowned plant manufacturers worldwide.
2008: Foundation of Wecotech Hellas
In response to increasing globalization, Hermann Wehrli founded Wecotech Hellas in 2008 to secure a competitive advantage through CNC parts manufactured in Greece at favorable conditions.
2014: Foundation of Wecotech AG Werkzeuge und Maschinen
In 2014, Wecotech began supplying the Swiss domestic market with machine tools and tooling for machining technology and founded the subsidiary Wecotech AG Werkzeuge und Maschinen for this purpose.
Company anniversaries 2015 / 2017
In 2015 we celebrated 30 years since the foundation was laid, and in 2017 we looked back on 20 successful years of Wecotech AG. Anniversaries are a moment to pause and thank everyone who contributed to the success of the companies.
2017: Foundation of Changzhou Wecotech Tube End Forming Technology Co., Ltd
Success in the Chinese market led Wecotech to establish its own sales and service branch in Changzhou in 2017 so it could continue to benefit from the booming market in China.
2020: Handover of Wecotech AG to younger hands
By 2019 the time had come to hand the companies over to a younger generation. The official handover was completed in 2020. Hermann Wehrli continues to support the two young entrepreneurs with advice and expertise.
